Wearing Duty Belts – A Short Guide

0

Police duty belts, also known as Sam Browne belts, are commonly usedby Police, EMS and most Security professionals. The difference between the different occupations is what is carried on the belt. Although the standard outer belt is common most wear an outerbelt, an inner (that attach by Velcro) and keepers to keep the two together. Pouches are then placed onto the belt and inside the pouches we put things such as  such as handcuffs, keys batons, pistols, pepper spray, flashlights and numerous items needed for our daily tour of duty.

The most common materials used to make duty belts are leather and ballistic nylon. The width can reach from 2” to 2.5 inches and strong enough to carry a firearm, baton and multiple sets of handcuffs… AT ONCE.
Wearing your belt
1.    Positioning the pouches on your belts depends on a number of things. First one is preference. Where do you want to keep your items and the second is training. Hand cuffs should be kept on your weak side so they can be reached with your weak arm leaving your strong arm free to hold onto the suspect. A firearm and or baton are kept on your strong side to allow drawing of the weapon with your strong hand. Your flashlight should be kept on your weak side. The other items on your belt are really up to your own preference and space on your belt.
2.    Since duty belts commonly have a three-way buckle system. This prevents someone from snatching your belt because you need fine motor skills to unlock the belt
3.    Belts should be worn tight and in order to alleviate any back issues from the weight of the belt a pair of our Original suspenders or our Tactical suspenders will work to keep you comfortable during those long shifts

Introduction to Tactical Gear Products

To put in it simply, all law enforcing agencies in the world that strive hard to protect the common man, need some shielding for themselves as well. This is where tactical gear comes into the picture. Whether it the military or the police force, officials who risk their lives in difficult and risky situation are aided with tactical gear to keep them protected from any kind of physical attack and injury. Tactical gear includes everything from tactical clothing, boots, medical kits, bag packs, law enforcement equipment, special lights, knives, and other small items that can be of use, when battling out in the field.
And, when we say battling, we don’t mean literally battling like in the olden times, but it refers to any hard situation such as controlling unruly mobs, chasing criminals, conducting search missions in the forests, deserts or the mountains. Also, at different times in a year, the weather conditions can vary from being too hot to being freezing cold. Tactical clothing, in specific is designed to keep the body temperatures at bay, and keep officials comfortable and free to run, walk, and jump.

Therefore,in conclusion the answer to what is tactical gear- we can say that it includes all personal items of protection, including police tactical gear, custom tactical gear, and every other types of law enforcement tactical gear, which has been discussed ahead. This will also throw some light on

what is unique about tactical equipment
Tactical uniforms
The most protective shield out in the open is the clothes that one wears, and so most law enforcement organizations provide their officials with tactical uniforms and equipment. These uniforms include tactical shirts, pants, vets, and jackets. They are designed with insulated material that keeps one warm during the winters and cool during the summers. These clothes are waterproof, fireproof and also bulletproof, and provide considerable protection against all kinds of harsh conditions. Whether it is a dust storms, heavy rains, or snow, these uniforms protect the body against any physical injury or harm. Law enforcement agencies also have the option to order for custom tactical gear.
                     Tactical Boots
Tactical Boots are required to keep the feet in comfort. Since when one is out in the field and on his toes 24 hours at a stretch, the feet experience maximum exertion as they have to support the body weight all the time. To minimize this effect, police duty boots are designed with a heavy base and slight heels at the back so that the body weight is shifted to the boots and keeps the person feeling light and comfortable for hours together.
Just like the tactical clothing, tactical boots also come with special insulation to keep the feet warm, especially during the harsh winters. They are waterproof and will work well through heavy rains and snow. Their sole offers a solid grip, far better than any ordinary shoes and are therefore good for difficult terrains, including mountains, deserts and rocky regions.
Tactical Accessories
Beside the clothes and shoes that one wears, certain accessories are also essential for complementing the tactical military gear. These include special tactical eye gear, police duty belts, gloves, holsters, military watches, duty bags, and many other similar products.
 Tactical equipment
Small and handy, most tactical tools come in sizes that can easily fit your jacket and pant pockets. They may include small devices like pocket knives and multi tools, flashlights, pens, handcuffs, radio earphones, notebooks, suspenders, wallets, LED lights and many other items of use that can be selected according to personal needs and requirements of the police and military officials.
