Advantages and disadvantages of LED Flashlights

LEDs have gained tremendous popularity in the recent years. Let’s find out whether it’s a mere vogue or is there any substance associated to all the hype? Mentioned below are the advantages and disadvantages of LEDs over the conventional flashlights.

Advantages
Long Life
Majority of the LED lights have a shelf life of more than twenty five thousand hours, which accounts for them last about 50% longer than the conventional flashlights. Example, 911Gear XtarLED Tactical Flashlights.
Longer Battery
LED’s certainly offer a longer battery life and are much sturdier as compared to conventional lights.
Reduce Air Pollution
As they consume less energy, therefore they result into reduced air pollution.
Disadvantages
Expensive
The LED lights are offered at a much higher price as compared to the conventional lights.
Less Light Products
Second criticism that LEDs face is that they do not cover as much distance as conventional lights. But in most cases people make use of flashlights to view closer things. So it’s not that big a disadvantage!
