TRU-SPEC by Atlanco - A trusted manufacturer of uniforms and tactical gears

TRU-SPEC by Atlanco is among one of the most trusted suppliers of personal & tactical equipments, material and uniforms to the military, law enforcement and public safety markets. It had entered the market back in 1950 and has evolved as a giant manufacture of various uniforms and tactical equipment used by thousands of police, firefighters, EMTs and military personnel.

It was founded by Zagin family under the name of the Atlanta Army Navy Company and the brand name TRU-SPEC was later derived from the notion that the company’s uniforms and goods matched U.S. Govt.’s “true specifications” standards by using United States mil-spec fabrics.

In 1996, Atlanco opened its first manufacturing facility in Honduras and called it “Basic Apparel”. After eight years, it relocated to a facility in La Ceiba, Honduras. This facility was spread over 100,000-square area and it housed the complete production process under one roof. Presently, the company continues to grow with over 900 employees working in the factory. The company also established strategic partnership with manufactures in Indonesia, China, Dominican Republic, and Korea.

Earlier, the company produced only core military apparels, but now, it has expanded its product range to public safety, law enforcement and outdoor clothing.  Atlanco has a huge domestic and international market for its diverse range and value of products.

In 2011, a retired Marine drill instructor, R. LEE Ermey joined Atlanco as its official spokesperson for TRU-SPEC and provided his services as an assistant in the design of new line of tactically-inspired apparel.

The TRU-SPEC apparels are versatile, rugged, but comfortable without compromising with functionality. Its products, both military and public safety, have evolved over the period of time to suit the needs of growing market. Every product is designed and created with vision, ambition and panache.
